Why Invest in Liverpool?
Liverpool is a city in the north west of England. It has many benefits for an investment destination, including its proximity to London and Manchester airports, good rail links into the UK’s capital and industrial cities such as Glasgow and Birmingham, plus it already has many thriving industries: Business & Financial Services; Construction; Creative Industries (including Media & Broadcasting) and Manufacturing.
An Opportunity Area
Liverpool is the UK’s fifth most populous city, but it has been in decline for decades with people moving away to seek jobs elsewhere or in cheaper areas of England. However, thanks to a big push from national government and local authorities, Liverpool gained the status as an ‘Opportunity Area’, which is a designation designed to attract investors.
Liverpool’s development plan focuses on four key areas: the city centre ; the waterfront and coastal communities ; tourism and attractions; enterprise zone (NESTA)

Property Deals under £100k
It’s hard to believe, but there are still property deals to be found under £100k in Liverpool. Check out Kensington, Old Swan and Tuebrook. The key is not just to know the areas, but to know the roads. Don’t invest in a cheap area unless you are aware that it has a low crime rate, good transport links and generally a good street. Some of the sub 100k areas in Liverpool do have anti social behaviour and petty crime and so it’s important to avoid those.
500 million investment announced in the North Docks near Bootle
Bootle is also potentially an ‘up and coming area’ where you can still pick up properties less tan £100k. Go for somewhere near the North Dock or Hugh Baird College, but again look carefully at the streets and also visit them after dark. With the 500 million investment announced, it is a sure thing that the facilities of the docks will be expanding Northwards and this could have a positive impact on the area a house prices.
