An Opportunity Area

Liverpool is the UK’s fifth most populous city, but it has been in decline for decades with people moving away to seek jobs elsewhere or in cheaper areas of England. However, thanks to a big push from national government and local authorities, Liverpool gained the status as an ‘Opportunity Area’, which is a designation designed to attract investors.

Liverpool’s development plan focuses on four key areas: the city centre ; the waterfront and coastal communities ; tourism and attractions; enterprise zone (NESTA)
